I'm sure you know much more than I do.

That was a short ride. I'd have to hear the amp you created to be a believer, just because of the experience I had when we tried dc. I'm just concerned that the guts can be taken out of the sound and then there is really no sense to the whole thing. It doesn't matter what transformers would be used if an important element is missing.
Changing drivers, using itc's, all that stuff is good, and I'm sure alot of really knowledgeable people can do their own wonders with the sound, because in these circumstances, the sonic signature will remain intact. But I just don't know about the dc.
Maybe we don't do dc right, that is a hypothesis. But it is just a hypothesis to me, from my limited point of view.
We had one audio buddy insist on dc, with the 10y tube because he had an oris horn set-up. Initially, he thought there was no difference. But he wound up delegating this amp to his subs, and used a different webster amp with ac for the oris's. Now I heard he would like to go back to the ac with a latter hum reducing circuit that John found for the 10y tube. So now he knows the difference.
Sorry about the fact that I do have to question dc. But I have to proceed in a logical or foundational way to keep track of all the variables and the importance of each. And this is what I know so far.
