Well, most folks who feel that way will naturally pick at your choice of multiple drivers for the same reason. I am somewhat experienced in the matter of one's array design being scrutinized ;^)> That said I can hear the difference between single and parallel tubes on my arrays, and I prefer single output tube amps.My hunch is that the result would fall somewhere in between a single output tube amp and an amp with paralleled tubes. You still have the issue of slight phase differences between the individual amps, but you would at least reduce the tendency for one tube to hog the current that can happen in amps with parallel tubes.
With multiple transformers it sure could get expensive fast. Consistency of the components of the amps will matter just like it does in arrayed drivers.
Another consideration is that the multiple amps may be somewhat more difficult to drive from a typical front end than a single amp would be.
