Thanks for setting me straight again, Paul. I hadn't thought about re-tubing. Four tubes at a time and finding a matched quad could get expensive, about $400+. God, at that price I'd be eating potatoes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.How many hours do you get to a set?
By the way, I took your advice and am going to listen to a Car 300B SEI tomorrow, and on Friday another Inmate is going to let me hear his SET amps - Sun Audio SV 300BE, DIY JE Labs 2A3, and Chinese 845. That should give me a beginning peak into the world of SET.
