I have relocated to a small house in the USA because of work and the room I am using for my stereo is disgustingly small with full carpeting. I hooked up my stereo and did a test run to listen for damage in shipment and how it sounds in the new room, like crap. It is very narrow sounding with no ambience or hall life in the music. Basically, I feel as if I am in a monitoring studio. On the plus side, the music is very very accurate and I can hear every detail in the music.
I want to do something to add life back to the music. Would diffusors on the walls or ceiling help? What are some tricks to add the life back to music without removing carpet? Basically, I need to increase the RT60 time because that is the problem. There is no delay and no slap echo at all.
thanks.
