Good answer! Certainly the basic premise is indisputable.

It could of course become a useful tool but as long as it is remains the truncheon of those who wish to demonstrate that the last three decades or so of observation experience by audiophiles is nothing but a collective fantasy, then don't expect much.

Mind you that's admittedly a little melodramatic but frankly much of what we see played out here is precisely the noise of such a fanatical and pathetic element.

As to serious research it can't be denied that there's little to speak of. Why is this so? The answer to that question seems pretty obvious to me ... there's no great need for it! I don't need it, nor do I percieve that any great number of hobbists are demanding it. There's also practical issues such as it being expensive, difficult, etc. etc.

FYIW what I said earlier about being left in ignorance wasn't an admission, not even close, merely a dismissive remark, one that seems entirely appropriate when confronted with the conspiratorial oriented blurb. However, reflexive it was, and perhaps you personally don't warrant such treatment, but judging by the reaction of some to what was really a rather straightforward critique of the consequences of low-N testing I would think the reflex shouldn't have come as much of a shock!
