However, I don't go to a VIDEO website and tout the practicality and perfection of cheap video tape, etc, etc, and accuse hi definition broadcast as just being a scam to make money!""Your statements are incompatible with the historical truth re hidef.. Hi definition, by design, is most certainly getting better. Raising the bar from 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i to the currently proffered 1080p, is by design and engineering. Clear distinctions.
Do they make "freezer claims"?, or magic chips, or felt dots?..No, solid engineering.

Look at the absurdity of this position.
It is the same here in reference to audio quality. ""Look at the absurdity of your claims. I'm the first to grant the possibility that all is certainly not written yet, never will be, and that you personally have done much to advance understandings..that is progress. But the mantra "how do you know it doesn't work until you try it", is utterly absurd for much that is touted in "hi end audio".
I do not believe the current understanding of listening tests is sufficient to guage that which we (humans)can hear, and have said so many times.

People here also give us too much crap about making a living in audio""I've not done so. But I see high end dying, and one factor I consider as causitive is the silly ads, marketing hype, and floobydust explanations which are still being foisted on a rapidly more savvy target audience..they are becoming smarter as a result of the internet..but the vendors have not yet embraced that new paradigm. They fall, one by one.
Cheers, John
