It is a myth that I2S must be better than spdif relocked properly. It all depends on cabling, socketry and length of connection.
I wish people would base their comments on experience from good practice in interfacing and not some kind of 'common' knowledge.
In my experience, all PC digital outs needs relocking to sound at their best and compete with box hifi. I2S signals, if not treated properly, may not be very good at all.
