The complication of computer audio is no different than the complication of the audiophile endeavor that has been going on for decades. It has much more to do with the pleasure of fiddling with the gear than it does with significant, verifiable improvement in sound. These improvements often, in fact, fail to be verifiable in testing.

It's not just "good enough." It's not just "mid fi." It is excellent. It is the better mousetrap. It is everyman's key to higher fidelity. Unless you're the kind of audiophile who upgrades speaker wire every couple of years, you can relax and enjoy the music, confident that you've given your system the purest source it has ever seen. If you are one of those audiophiles, relax and enjoy the tweaking. It's all good. If you do get some incremental improvements from it, even better.
