Hahaha, me too. Can't find the relation really, so far.

"1. Load the (wav) file being played onto the SSD from your external HDD"

For FLACs (etc.) yes, for WAVs no.

"2. Is the (wav) just uploaded in RAM from your external HDD?"

For FLACs (etc.) no, for WAVs yes (hehe).

"3. Was the (wav) file stored on the SSD and uploaded from there? If not did you experiment with loading files onto your SSD before playing?"

Literally no, but for FLACs (etc.) it comes down to that. Note though there would be a difference when done literally so, because no disk would be spinning ever. Not much practical, unless we upload the due albums for the day to the SSD. :-)

There just doesn't seem to be a relation.
