Yep. It is dedicated fanless machine for playing music files, no internet or e-mail on this pc, not even an internet connection. At some point I will use it as an active crossover too with the Thuneau allocator as the crossover program.
For the $900 the Lynx costs and the performance of its 3 dacs, it is nearly impossible to find anything that gives as good a sound for the price. Especially if one is bi/ tri-amping. Alan Jordan has compared it to the Benchmark USB dac and found the Lynx to be in the same league. For a 1/3 of the benchmark price (you would need 3 Benchmarks to tri amp) the Lynx is a steal.
The Lynx into the power amp is very clean and the Pass is a great amp with the Lynx. I really need to get another Pass to implement vertical bi-amping and to drive the subs I will be building. This is the hold up, but I am taking donations :).
Anyhow, if you were to hear the lynx's analog outs it might change your mind on that rule.
