Hi Abe,Are you saying that you have a DigiOne with spdif outputs, but you actually use the USB output on the RPi4 without a hat? Any reclocking down the line?
What did the DigiOne do if you sent it a DSD (.dsf) file?
The Musetec actually has great USB to I2S conversion using an Amanero board with better than Crystek clocks and internal generation of the 5V power so that the USB cable is not compromized by carrying the power. I am currently using an SOtM sms ultra neo as a DLNA server. It works great. It seems, though, extremely sensitive to the USB cable used.
But, there seems to have been a lot of product development on the spdif front recently and I have from time to time enjoyed using my Oppo 105 as a DLNA server out of its spdif. It does output DoP, though it does not play anything gapless (as does the Oppo 205 I think). It is nowhere as good as the SOtM, but it has an interesting signature and I thought I might experiment with spdif using something better.
