RE: Questions about speaker cable characteristic impedance

Wire should have a very low impedance-
it is typically measured as either mOhms/ft or meter, or Ohms / kM
with out a distance- the measurement is a bit meaningless - for a conductor
The SI UOM is actually Ohm Meter

Having said this- there are tables for the resistivity per foot (or meter) by gauge (AWG or crossectional area) - see link below

as an example, 18 gauge copper wire has a resistivity of 10 milliOhms/ft...
so a 10 ft run would have a resistance of 100 milliOhms...
