I really did not, I emphasize, did not, expect this treatment to do anything. I guess we just have a different attitude toward things. I take chances and in this case I benefited. I am more hesitant when the tweak cannot or cannot easily be undone.
As to whether other ticks and pops or whether ferrite rings on the landline might not do the same thing, I guess all that I can say is that I have a limited patience for trial and error. Mr. Kait has invested much time in this. He has probably gone down dead-end paths. There may be better solutions if one were to really understand what physical patterns underlay what is going on. I am neither troubled by the fact that in my opinion this did work or by what I would have thought had it not worked.
I have had several conversation with Geoff and find him sincere. He knows that I have disliked some of his devices or tweaks and find some, such as the Brilliant Pebbles to have an impact which at some points I have liked, but presently have out of my listening room.
There is another company, Acoustic Revive with many tweaky products. One, their Quart Resonators which can have an impact on devices, if properly placed, that flat-out are jaw dropping. They can also hurt the sound, if not properly placed. Are they really just resonators or do they alter electro-magnetic fields? I don't know. I would not do without these. They have a silk that you put between wires internally that supposedly is also of tremendous benefit. I have yet to try this, but will soon.
