Home Isolation Ward

From ebony pucks to magic foil, mystical and controversial tweaks.

Let me try again.

And excuse my first post - I thought "isolation ward" was sort of a dumping ground for things that were even too much for Prop Heads so I conducted myself accordingly (poorly).

So let me try again...

If a tweak results in a change in perception, it is arguable whether or not that tweak has VALUE - even it has no active mechanism by which it achieves this end. By "no active mechanism" I mean it works in the imagination (and thus perception) of the end user.

Why is this such a cause for contraversy?

Many subjectivists here have claimed that if indeed a tweak ONLY results in a perceptual change they don't care, so long as the perceptual change is a positive one. They are not demanding "proof" that the change has an active mechanism like the objectivists often do.

Once a subjectivist had made an assertion like this, arguing is about as sensible as questioning someone's preference for an iced cream flavor or a person who enjoys a drive in the countryside after a car wash because their car drives better because it is "happy" that it has been washed.

If the car is happy and the driver is happy... how do we prove this?

And do we need to?

Cheers,
Presto
