Just returned home this afternoon from the Tasting, and I must admit I am dead tired from the lack of sleep and the preparations of the week before the event, but a heartfelt thanks to Jonathan and all those that made it possible.
I am too sleepy to relay all the details now, but it surely was, in my opinion, the best one yet. Lots of great people, great gear and excellent discussion, including talks by Bill Woods and Steve Schell of course.
2 surprises for me included, like Scholl said, the 6550 RCA amps (modified RCA MI-12182 amps)driving the RCA LC9A speakers. The amps were originally designed and built by mr. Hans Dietze of RCA. I got them up and running again for the tasting, and the combination was superb.
Also another little treat were the early RCA 8" cone field coil drivers in original wooden exponential theatre horn, and Electro-Voice baronet cabinet. Really amazing sound from the early days of electro-dynamic speakers.
