I was told once that ~1300 was the driver's lower limit - you could try some cardboard pieces taped to the horn as a baffle with the 1200 xover and compare to running the horn without a baffle -- when I put them on a K the cardboard helped but looked crappy - 800 looks cool so a plexi baffle would be nice. maybe Mike didn't have the tubes at the time you went? - he praised them a couple of times before being banned from DIY Audio - haha
