I have a pair of Altec 811B's that have been sitting in a closet for several years now. My original plan was to find some 416's and build a new cabinet, but I don't think I'll get around to that soon.Anyway, I do have some JBL 4312's and I was planning on using the woofers and cabinets from those and just slapping the 811B's on top. This is really just an experiment. If they sound good together, great. If not, I'll try Plan B, which is active biamping through a Behringer DCX2496.
I'm planning to use a first-order crossover, crossed at 1.0kHz. Would this work? Has anyone tried this?
Cheers,
Sparky
