Still awaiting a better proposal than what AES has written up. They are so terrible according to your opinion, but NO ONE has heard your proposal for the betterment of the issue, other then to install a polarity switch on every component, it so seems.
Piqued by the questions of many others and by the skeptics, I've investigated (often from documentation provide by others)and researched and realize that there are many paths and answers out there. Definitions are fundamental in order to understand the problem and to create solutions. The ASE has most definitely defined the meaning of polarity, both from an electrical and mechanical point of view, even to the pint where it defines the motion of the microphone diaphragm in relation to a positive signal. That they did so so long ago coupled with the thought process which actually went into their proposed standards shows their committee to be very knowledgeable and a genius in creating working protocols for determining polarity.
But yet you claim there are no definitions, and therefore the AES proposal is flawed. Perhaps it may be flawed, but primary flaw is the failure of the industry to accept the standards. This is most definitely an indication that a working definition of what is correct is not within your sphere of knowledge. "Pick what sounds better," is not going to help the general confusion, nor will it create a standard or a general broad base understanding. Despite your claims of "alerting the world to this pernicious effect," you are simply adding to the confusion.
As for your list, I am sure that it affects the numerous designs that have emerged since the publication of your book. You have not criticised current designs, and indeed have generally ignored the issue of mixed polarity drivers until others brought it to the forefront. Working unitedly together is more likely to produce an industry wide effect than one individual trying to claim all the 'glory'.
Just my opinion, of course, but a self proclaimed 'Messiah', with no vision is no Messiah in my thinking.
