And the reason that your company sets things up that way, is so that they can avoid paying royalties to the copyright holder of the music and /or the performance. If there's a sale of a recording your company owes royalties to the artists. But since there's no sale, no money is owed.That's the reason your company and all other "record companies" do this, not because of some sense of ethics with respect to music reviewers.
In the days of vinyl, you could recognize these records by the hole punched in a corner of the album jacket. I have about ten of them that the radio station my wife worked for 30 years ago gave her when they changed formats.
