To actually shock yourself with one of this would be quite the challenge. There is one screw in the acrylic plate that is referenced to ground, so you would need to touch that and squeeze your fingers or a screw driver into one specific place to get the full 36V. This seems extremely unlikely, and if you did decide to experiment and find the right combo, you would get a pretty mild tingle at best.
