further off topic talk about those terrible guns

24.12.235.34

The $7 goes for a box of Eley Match 22 long rifle for my Schultz & Larsen free rifle. This has been the rifle I've been concentrating my practice on this year, shooting off hand at 100yd at an SR-1 and off hand 50yd at a standard 50yd. smallbore target. It's a really different gun to shoot, as it has a hair trigger and a post sight. After trying 10 or so different kinds of ammo, I'm slowly learning what shoots, I have some modicum of trigger control and I'm getting a rhythm and a decent sight picture. My rank beginner's scores have gone from about 110 to about 150-1X (20 rounds) over the past few months. Obviously I hardly deserve the good stuff with that kind of shooting, but what the hell, it's 98% mental anyway and it makes me feel empowered to open up a box of that $shiny$ stuff.

Bruce and I did indeed just buy ourselves a Lee reloading bench setup for the his .45 and the screwy Mauser based .308 match rifle that I'm very slowly putting together. My other shooting bud has a stunning 40X-C in .308 that he's brought out of mothballs as well, so we will probably do some bulk buys on LC brass and match bullets.

Speaking of off topic gun stuff reminds me, any of you local boys interested in my 10/22 with Ramline folding stock, muzzle break, extended mag release, quick change barrel screw, maglite mount, and 25rd. mags? Would sure like to part with it and reinvest that $ in other stuff, or maybe even trade for something interesting. Maybe work a trade for an old 870 or a Mossberg 500?

Man, a 2 mi. run this morning, on my way to the range in about an hour, and a date with Queen Eileen tonight. Sure beats workin'!
