Hey Nico

I don't know if yu like Classical music or not but I picked up a compilation cd (Yeah I know) that sounds terrific and makes me want to rush out and buy every album on it.

It's called Karajan Forever: The Greatest Classical Hits. Deutche Grammophon. It's a two disc set 4742052...it has the big Saint-Saens organ piece on it that goes deep and full.

My learning curve on classical music is steep and because I don't have a radio it's extremely difficult to learn. But it's the first time I've been interested in classical music because it never sounded very good until AN came along.

Now I find it's pretty much the primary thing I listen to - kinda funny since my first concert was Motley Crue's Dr. Feelgood tour - I swore I'd never listen to classical----LOL.

Also, Check out the Allison Kraus & Union Station Live disc - she is an incredible singer and the accompanyment(SP?) is first class as well as the recording. My dealer, Terry, at Soundhounds had her playing on the E's and that had me racing out to buy the disc. He puts me on to some sort of artist every time I go down there so it's always worth my 1.5 hour drive each way.

The Karajan disc will put to rest anyone who says a two way can't do large scale and large scale bass at pretty loud levels with no colouration(People are tone deaf there is no colouration - I've had em 6 months - what the hell are the talking about? - decay?). It's just fantastic sound and this is in spite of not having a good front end yet. I'm working on it though. The AN Amps have more of a 3dimensional presentation especially on horns and a more thereness to it all.

The only trouble with compilations is that they only play the popular segments or I guess crescendo parts - still it's a terrific cd. I mostly have bought Naxos but I may re-think it a bit - not the recordings just that the music seems more inspiring/moving.
