Another, not the AN pre-amp.
One would carefully match main amp to pre-amp if that were the case but here you have a redundant volume pot by mixing, in effect, 2 pre-amp stages.
The TKD pot wasn't just any upgrade for me but one I was very familiar with from building other designs. Each of the common pots from Alps, Noble, etc have very distinctive sounds. Combining them, the TKD in the Kit 1 and the Noble in the pre-amp I have on hand diminishes the sound of the Kit 1.
