I don't ordinarily use a pre-amp with mine but have on occasion. Turn up the Kit 1 volume until you hear "noise" with the pre-amp volume control well up and then back off a bit.
Otherwise build a switch box for the five or perhaps combine some. I have CD routed thru my phono stage with a switch. Prefer all low-level signals together away from high.
