I don't know about the price/performance issue. A SET may be "simple," but then so is a pushpull that does not have any Ultralinear or Williamson type of feedback. The big cost with SET comes from making a transformer that does not suffer from saturation problems.I own both a pushpull 45 and a 2a3 parallel (twin output tubes) SET amp. I much prefer the SET amp, but then again, it is about seven times more costly.
