While On The Subject Of Nelson Pass DIY

After 48 hours plugged in and about 6 hours of music, my recently completed B1 Passive Buffer is marvelous. Everything you hope a passive will be without the inevitable loss of dynamics (Grunt) I've exprienced in all other plain passives I've tried.

Here's Why

What the technical stuff doesn't say is that, first, it's dead nuts quiet. Next, It makes all my "test" records sound wonderful in all aspects, purity of tone, seeing into an orchestral score without losing the ensemble, showcasing male and female vocal, Bass that thumps when there's thump and growl when there's growl, and Mandolin's, omigosh, Adam's Mandolin on So Long So Wrong.

All for $237 in parts and 5 or 6 hours of the most elementary kit building.

If you've been thinking of that other Buffer, you know, the one with a Tube, (which I tried and didn't like at all) have reasonably efficient speakers and perhaps longish Interconnects, the B1 is a no lose project. Even if you don't like it, for the money you can afford to have it on the shelf and tell your Buds, "I made that".
