I love my TG II

I love my TG II - and will surely buy the III one day. Despite the fact that I have an otherwise audiophile-approved system, inserting the TG II into my tape loop for use with the hologram generator is just too much fun to resist. Makes bad recordings listenable, and good ones roomfilling. The very best recordings are better without - about 10% of my collection. Pop music is a wild ride. Tames circa 80's cd's to be shhmoooth. I understand the TG III hologram operates 100% in the digital domain with virtually no noise, but I won't sell my TG II until I hear the improvement, and doubt I'll sell it even then - rather will relegate it to my home theatre system as a backup.

The hologram is worth the price alone to me - but the rest is all good too. The hologram does nothing more than send addition signals from each speaker to cancel head-related crosstalk, so should damage the signal very little and should theoretically improve when done in the digital domain. The end result of the signal cancellation is that you hear the left speaker with your left ear only, and the right with the right ear only, the other signals (left speaker to right ear and right speaker to left ear) cancelled out a few inches in front of your nose. The effect is dramatic to say the least, but obviously your speakers must be perfectly aligned, and your music filled head in vicegrip - so what else is new? When it works, damn, it works...

I suspect the review they gave was more for attention and to gain credibility for a new webpage, throwing over a popular brand and model - after all, it got them a post here - and will undoubtedly get their name around in other circles too. Next they'll do some bose-bashing or something I suppose - bose has it's place in the world, but bashing it has it's purpose...
