Pat the C2 you are building should sound superb. It will beat up on a great many expensive name brand products out there.

I was aiming squarely at the BAT VK-P10SE Super Pak. These retail at 8,000 dollars. Their sound quality is superb, actually the best I have heard in my lifetime.

My C2 and Clarinet get me pretty close to this mark. I am so happy with the results I achieved for the investment I have made.

It sounds so damn good right now I am not planning a single change to any component piece or circuit aspect of the Clarinet or Coronet2. At first I thought I might spin in my own iron based power supply (similar to the Castinet) but I don't need to go that route with what I am hearing.

It is time to listen and enjoy some fine music.

What I love most about DIY is that I have 2k tied up in the Hagermans and if you were a business, they would have to retail for approximately 6,000 or more for the pair. Otherwise, you would have to close the business. The Hagerman's are superb. Even dead stock they are impressive as hell.

I bought new front, back and top panels for my Coronet 2 case. I plan to center the C2 so I can run my Russian caps on their own sub boards on either side of the PCB. I need to clean up the look.

This will make me much happier. I like a clean and nicely laid out board. The Clarinet is not precisely how I like a project to finish. I might go back one more time and move them all to the sides of the main board on their own sub board. I am doing this right now on my C2. Here is a picture. Right now the Teflons will only fit on one side. When I am done everything will look a whole lot better.

The Silver Supremes are a really fine addition to the C2 and the Clarinet. The sound is now wall to wall and super natural sounding. I like that. It is precisely how I hear music in a concert hall or a rock and roll venue. I thought they might end up sounding too bright and etched, but this is not the case at all.
