I think you will find that ARC produces reference level equipment and supports that equipment with reference quality service. It does not matter if you purchased the gear new, used, from a dealer or individual, if it was produced by ARC they will gladly support it. ARC will also support any product they have ever produced. No ARC ophans in the world. That alone is priceless.
To a person that I have talked with at ARC, they are responsive and willing to help. Leonard is a gem. Perhaps a bit dry, but geez, if anyone has to deal with audiophiles and their problems all day long........
Do some find the service lacking at ARC? Perhaps. But ARC does things a certain way and will only do it that way. I think you will find if you dig a bit deeper with those there were not happy with ARC service they were asking ARC to do something they will not do.
Like all companies, ARC has produced a few products over they years that were less than stellar in terms of reliabililty. But in general there gear is reliable in the extreme. Most issues revolve around the nature of the tubes. If one wants to avoid any possibility of tube headaches, then buy SS gear.
