I don't fault ARC for not having stuffed PCBs ready to go for every product they made. That really seems kind of silly. I would be surprised if any one does this sort of thing for older gear.
What they do keep around is every sub-component, transformer, transports, etc. Many others in the industry do not do this. Try to get your early Levinson gear repaired?
But yes, if you do something foolish like let your cat piss all over the gear and destroy the PCB, poor a Coke inside the thing, then the gear is gone.
