BG,You've seen my posts here on the 4802. I don't know the ADCOM gear so I can't advise you there.
I will say, however, that I find the Denon 3803 combined with external amplification pretty compelling. Better DACs and processing than the 4802. BTW, if you're looking at buying new, Denon is preparing to release the 4802R which has updated processing and has dumped the hideola 8000 remote for a price somewhat less than the "standard" 4802.
The 3803 has reasonable juice to drive everything but your mains. Depending on your budget and your evaluation of resale prospects, you might consider adding either a nice 2-ch amp for your mains or a 5-ch to drive LCR+side surrounds.
