I was awestruck enough with the 200.2’ transparency and lack of grain to try them again after a few revisions. Reading between the lines on some recent posts -- the gen II w/ bigger power supplies put some meat on the bones, but the midrange harmonics and soundstage depth and scale may still be lacking. Digital amps have a unique sound – some of both, but neither tube or solid state like. I’ve noticed others who have switch over with a tube bias, relying on tube preamps and / or modifications to fill in the gaps.
