when we put the DK Design group VS-1 hybrid integrated (150rms 8ohms/350? 4ohms)on the AA Omegas they sounded much better. The control was lacking with tubes. The Omegas are outstanding in every way. I was fortunate enough to hear them at Audible Arts, in San Jose. Jeff had been pushing for 3 months to get them in the store, but there were problems with shipping damage that has since been resolved as they are now crated properly.
BTW: The price is now $12,500!! Not $10K, what a bummer, but the shipping charges are terrible & the distributor & dealer have to eat.I have heard $40K Dali Megalines that just don't do what the Omegas do at $12500. A pair of Meadowlark Blue Herron II are $12K & they are not even in the same league.
Jeff, the owner of Audible Arts in San Jose, is now the first dealer for Analysis Audio, & people who hear them are experiencing jaw dropping dynamics, 22hz bass that is unreal, and as near to live sound as I have heard in 15 years.
I bought a pair within 48 hours & a wait there arrival (5 weeks!)
A surgeon who stops by all the time & owns the Red Rose Ribbon speakers, also ordered a pair on the spot. My audio buddy Mike's friend is considering purchasing them next month after a closing on a house.
They are much easier to drive than Apogee's, but they still present a 4ohm load at 86db which requires a good solid amplifer to with feedback to control them.
They sound best with solid state, but we only tried a pair 100wpc ASL Monsoons monoblock (KT88) & so they may sound better with more tube power or a different amplifier.
