Listen first. I'm not sure you will need any mods. It is difficult to pick recorded material to properly check out these speakers, as the deficiencies of most recording are readily reveiled. Stick with Telarc and Chesky at first. Don't be surprised if you favorites dissapoint. However there are great rewards in seeking out good recordings to play on these speakers.Tom C
