I removed the steel jumpers from my LRSes a while back and replaced them
with copper jumpers from Anticables, terminated with banana plugs. Nice
little upgrade. To do that, I removed the allen screws from the
receptacles, pulled the steel jumpers, inserted the Anticables jumpers
and did not re-insert the allen screws. So far so good.
I've been thinking lately that I would try the one ohm resistors
furnished by Magnepan to try to tame some screechyness in the treble on
some recordings. So yesterday, I broke out the resistors and the allen
screws and the "L" shaped allen wrench furnished by Magnepan and tried
to insert the resistors. I nearly lost my religion trying to do this.
The biggest problem is the shape of the allen wrench - the "L" shape of
the wrench prevents turning it continuously.
So my question is, where if anywhere can I buy allen wrenches that are
not "L" shaped, but are just a straight piece of metal?
And if you have any other thoughts on this subject, I'd be happy to
read them.
