Oh yeah, I can guarantee that using a 1.2mH inductor and a 17uF capacitor would probably be too much compensation. The difference is considerable....about 10db higher drive to the bass panel at 1000Hz.

Removing the capacitor and leaving the coil intact would be a much better experiment I think. The curve is essentially the same as stock until about 1000Hz where the roll-off effect of the capacitor really comes into play.
