Re: 1.6 tweeters, inside/outside, revisited

I tried tweeters on the inside for a long time, but it takes a lot of toe-in to keep the sound phase correct. (The bass portion of the panels should be closer to the listener's ears than the tweeter.) The toe-in required for the nearfield position sent the back wave into the room's front corners which reduced the bass response.

With the tweeters on the outside I have 3" toe-in, that is the distance from the inside edge of the 24" panel to the front wall subracted from the distance measured from the outside edge of the panel.
It might be 2" toe-in on the 1.6 panel width at the same angle.

I understand what you mean by congested sound with the tweets on the inside and improved articulation with the tweets on the outside with minimal toe-in.
