Quads and their reputation are hard to refute. I was of the belief however that placement out into the room like most planars might still be difficult to work around.
I also really like buying American products made in this country and I like supporting American engineers. JansZen's factory is in Columbus, Ohio. My Maggies, pre-amp (Cary), and amp (Sanders) are all American designed and built.
Lastly, hearing the product and knowing setup could be flexible simply pushed the decision. And.......I really didn't want to cross $10k or come that close to it if I could avoid it.
