Mac amps utilize what is called an output autoformer so you would be getting 250 watts per channel(not 500) with the MC252 with 2, 4, or 8ohms. This feature creates less stress and heat, but still delivers great power and very low distortion at any output. Also, Mac amps are famous for delivering more watts than advertised.
