I did not try using just one choke at the input this time. This failed to work for me last year. However, Al's main goal still is achieved with insertion in the tweeter jumper, I believe.

However, you could do us a favor, if you can, you have a 3 way. Disregard the fact that the mid already has a choke. I suspect that there is an element of "synchronicity" involved here. Please add a choke of the same value as the other panels (before the current mid choke).
And/or, take all the chokes off and compare sound for imaging behaviors that affect the "individual elements".
