There have been a very clean set on Craigslist here forever, a bit overpriced but in storage for 30+ years. After reading here about Maggie issues, surfed over to Magnepan world HQ, and everything on the parts page out of stock except for some sock fabric. I don't want to spend $$$ on room dividers if there are no longer any repair kits. Because 40 yo glue is going to fail. Any thoughts appreciated. has anyone dealt with them lately? Posts are all pre covid. PS MG-1 Improved.
Why aren't they running? Should we be running?

Assuming you're not a troll (although it seems probable). I dealt with them just before Christmas. They're alive and well.

Why would I troll? Oh, this is AA where the trolls are king. Just a few answer every post there is because they have no life. Or they can't find a Threes Company rerun to watch. It's always a red flag when customer support aka the Website service parts is broken or unattended. From the posts I have read, the kid took over, drove out the experienced help. From your answer the take away is they want to charge what the speaker is worth for repairs $$$$$$. Thanks for your time, we'll pass on these.

Wow what an alarmist post over a prehistoric pair of speakers worth very little on the used market. Read the posts on Audiokharma about DIYing a repair for a cheap project. You can do it just fine and not invest a lot of money.

You'll catch more bees with honey. AKA Don't be a nob.

But I would question whether it's worth the time and money to rebuild it. A better bet might be to look a little further down the list of threads and go buy the LRS for $350 in MO.

Back to Two's Company...

Is this the ad your referring too? First off it says they were rehabbed, but like when, 2001? Excellent condition or not the price is too high, considering competition from other Maggie's.

So yes, you should be running to a different pair of Magnepan's.
