I hoped I'm too old and deaf to care anymore about CD Transports. Especially as ergonomically handicapped and underwhelmingly looking as SDR3000 but damn it! What a great sounding transport it still is. Nobody will service it. It's a service nightmare. Laser head cost is in stratosphere and to change belts you need a hammer and a hacksaw. Anybody has a dead carcas of one for cost of shipping and a bottle of trader Joe wine :?)

I assure you the newer one are far superior to older ones. The PS Audio
transport is a true revelation, but it's expensive.

Wasn't really a patch to SDR3000. That thing is something else.

Never had the big bucks for them during their heyday though. Even aside from the audio, I still find the Spectral line of products visually enticing.

Audio Research had the laboratory look. Spectral had the computer server look.

Very true.......

That's why I use the cutting edge Philips CDC935 CD changer as a transport....... ;-]
