Plenty of stuff there to consider - both the potting in the wooden body and the gluing to the brass plate are dead ends.....so will have to consider carefully.

I had mine on a brass plate, removed it and placed it back in the wood body. The epoxy, superglue, that I used allowed a side twist to remove the cartridge. Took some torque but it came off.

I encourage you to keep going.

After all, though, the cartridge is only $150 and worthy of the risk.
