Do Music Hall provide a kit for 78 rpm conversion?I've only converted a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon for 78 rpm playback. But Pro-Ject themselves provided the 78 rpm pulley for the conversion, and installing the pulley was easy. I have no idea how a conversion of a Music Hall turntable would go.
I wouldn't recommend a low-torque, belt-drive turntable for 78 rpm playback, btw, but that's just me. I also wouldn't recommend a cartridge for 78 rpm records that wasn't rated to track at 5 grams. Anyone who says you can successfully track 78 rpm records at, say, 2 grams is a moron.
When you hit your first serious warp, you'll find out why you want a heavy stylus tracking force.
Ortofon's 2M "78 rpm" stylus is rated for 1.8 grams. Whatever Ortofon are smoking, I want some. It must be amazing stuff.
