How long ago did you deoxit? It is possible that the deoxit needs some time to work and dry. I suggest you exercise (rotate, switch on and off...) all the controls. I've used deoxit on some nasty stuff, at first it didn't help, then the next day everything worked.
Follow Ups:
Yes, I did work the controls and after the first day I waited about a week. I'm wondering if I dislodged something.
Your experience is unusual. One suggestion is to isolate the problem, there are preamp out and amp in RCA's in the back. I suggest you plug in some kind of source that has a volume control and check the amplifier stage. And if you have access to an amplifier, connect it to preamp out. Speaking of these connections, you have jumpers on your connecting internal preamp to amp?
"you have jumpers on your connecting internal preamp to amp?"
Are you asking if I have them? Frankly, I don't know if I would recognize them. At any rate, I didn't move any jumpers or components on the board. I did rotate all the controls several times. I'm going to disconnect and reattach the components and then check the amplifier stage as you suggest. Thanks for the advice.
Hifi engine has the manuals, I looked it up, and the connections are bridged internally. I tried to include the owners manual here, but it won't accept PDF's. Even though it is bridged internally, this is the place I would start. Use an RCA patch cord and connect pre-out to main in. Feel free to contact me through e-mail I will send you the manual and my contact info. I'll help if I can.
Thanks a lot for your help, I'll try it soon.
