the speakers are horizontal. That helped a lot with center fill at 4 feet from the speakers, but the emphasis was more on the left speaker as I walked backwards to 10 feet. The speakers are 60 years old +, so the capacitors could be a factor for this. Heck, I haven't taken off the back in order to even see if the surrounds are okay.
