It's probably been at least 15 years since I obtained these pieces and have never used them. The amp, tuner and preamp came from a friend. I have another Stromberg Carlson Custom 400 amp from a different purchase, but it hasn't been restored. The speaker came from a wealthy computer customer I had back in the 90s.....it was sitting in the corner behind the grand piano.Dang...just the one cabinet.
Today, it has a CD player with the outputs combined to a single input for the preamp.
Sitting in a corner of the front entrance, and pointing into the living room, this system will fill the entire house with big, deep sound.

Hey, after about 13 years of absence, I am back, for a little while. I still recognize a few names here, how are you all doing?

For years I had a mono system in my garage. It is composed of a Ballantyne amplifier that originally had 6146 output tubes and a 600 ohm output transformer. I converted the amp to KT88 output tubes using a Dynaco output transformer from the Mk.3 amp. The input tube is a 7119 and the driver tubes are 6227 triode connected. This amp originally powered an entire drive in movie theater. The speaker is a great sounding 15" Stromberg Carlson coax. The source is a FiiO digital music player sending FLAC files to the Ballantyne's input transformer where the two channels are combined.

OK, the song came first, but that was followed by a movie*.*Shortly after the film's release, the local ACLU held a fund raiser. Two films were shown, "Behind The Green Door" and "Deep Throat". It was a full house and my date and I had a great time. ;^)

I have heard mono systems before. They do sound very nice in the right setups.
What's in the cab.? Might be a Jensen co-ax/tri-ax .

I pulled both pots for cleaning. One did nothing, the other had one spot that it played. Both now operate fine.
