  Nothing against the natural wood cases, but I think that could look good in a modern furniture setting along with a pair of the white cabinet speakers now being offered.
  
  I remember the 2270 was a popular model but is that price typical of what they sell for now? I don't follow vintage pricing.

    the 2270. Buy em for a few hundred if you can find em and then full rebuild and they always sell, fast for a lot of money. This model might have some of the highest Marantz tax associated with it compared to all other brands' similar power and features units.

        Yes, I sold them locally, he is now not clueless. I am really enjoying the T+A Criterion T100's. Very dynamic and revealing, even at low volumes. That was a surprise to me. Good extended bass that doesn't over power my small room. Not a fan of the bottom mounted binding posts, however it does provide a clean look. I have them sitting on Herbies Large Gliders that really cut down on the vibrations of the wood floor. So far, I am very pleased with the change.
