VH Audio website states as follows in re: this wire:

" This wire is NOT designed to be used as external AC MAINS power cable, because the soft AirLok insulation is not designed to withstand the strain relief clamping pressure on most AC connectors. Insulation is rated for use up to 300VAC (power limited)."

That is correct, Mike K. The VH Audio AirLok 12 AWG Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cable and other AirLok cables are not intended to build external AC power cords with, however they are intended for use as internal AC wiring to hookup AC outlets within a DIY power line distributor, as I recommended. ChrisVH also indicates they are suitable to build external DC umbilicals with, and I've done such with the 4 x 18 AWG Star Quad w / AirLoK Insulation cable.
