Use a DER DE-5000 LCR meter

I got a DER DE-5000 LCR meter. Seems pretty straightforward to use, but I have a few questions. Any tips/tricks/hints to measuring L and C? Is there a correct frequency to use for measurement? Anything?

for caps clean their leads and insert them in the slots in on the meter face instead of using the meters leads for mot accurate results.
